Salmon River’s Randy McClure scored six points during the fourth quarter of the Savages’ 54-46 win over Tri-Valley Thursday night in McCall. With the victory, SRHS advances to the 1AD2 state play-in to be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, in Grangeville.

McClure totaled 24 points as the Savages rang up the District III runner-up honor. Canyon Harper scored 14 for Salmon River, including 11 during a first quarter that put SRHS firmly in charge of Thursday’s elimination game.

Leading 20-13 after one, the Salmon River boys outscored Tri-Valley by 11 during the second quarter, largely by way of holding the Titans to just six points in the period. The Savages scored just six themselves during the third quarter, but nevertheless carried a 43-26 lead to the fourth.
