Parker Walters of Grangeville went 5-1 and took third place in the 195 weight bracket at the 2018 Pomeroy Christmas Tournament, where he fell 4-2 in an ultimate tie breaker against undefeated George Bolling of Orofino. Bolling pinned Bubba Summers of Clearwater Valley in the first place match on Dec. 28, but in team scoring, the CV-Kamiah wrestling cooperative emerged with the high point total, with 156 to Clarkston’s 152 and Orofino’s 131.

CV’s Ty Dominguez placed first at 152, pinning Guylen Snyder of Joseph in the first place match and Kamiah’s Peyton Whipple placed first at 182, pinning CV’s Lane Schilling the first place match.

Landon Olsen (second, 106), Fallon Wilkins (third, girls 120), Christian Fabbi (third, 126), Tristin Dominguez (fourth, 126), Cedar Fisher (second, 145), Davis McElroy (third, 160) also all scored team points for the co-op.

For Grangeville, Caleb Barger placed second at 126 and Brittney Benavidez placed first in the girls 138 bracket.

This week, Grangeville and Clearwater Valley-Kamiah are set to compete Jan. 4 at St. Maries.
