The Salmon River girls are 10-0 in Long Pin Conference play with two league games left in their regular season. One of those league games – tonight’s (Jan. 24) matchup with Tri-Valley – effectively decides the No. 1 seed. The seven-team District III 1AD2 tournament begins Jan. 31 at Meadows Valley.

With the No. 1 seed comes a first-round bye and a pairing against the 4-5 winner at 6 p.m. Feb. 2. The No. 2 seed faces the tournament hosts at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 31, with the winner to take on the 3-6 winner at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 2. Elimination play continues with two games Feb. 5, with the district championship at 6 p.m. The runner-up can also qualify for the state tournament, but would need to win the district consolation at 7 p.m. Feb. 7 as well as a play-in at 1 p.m. Feb. 9 in Grangeville.

In addition to the key Tri-Valley road game on Jan. 24, SRHS has home games scheduled against Meadows Valley on Jan. 25 and Prairie on Jan. 26.
