The Prairie boys kept Genesee mired in a slough of turnovers during a District II eliminator Monday night, Feb. 18, won 67-32, and kept their state tournament hopes alive.
Devin Ross scored 17 points.
“We played quite better than we did the other night,” PHS coach Kevin Chafee told the Free Press after the game. “We started a little slow, but once we got our legs underneath us, I thought we played pretty well. We shared the ball well. The pressure kind of bothered Genesee and we got quite a few turnovers out of that press. That helped us get some points on the board.”
The lopsided final score saw Prairie empty its bench.
“We tried to get some rest, because we bounce back tomorrow night,” Chaffee said.
Prairie is set to play Troy at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at LCSC.
