Prairie finished 2018 with an undefeated 10-0 overall record, and the Pirates have nine more regular season games scheduled for 2019.
With 10 points and, according to the Lewiston Tribune, one critical rebound among five total boards, Theresa Wemhoff and Prairie held on to beat Grangeville 35-34 Dec. 21.
Paige Lindsley led Grangeville with 12 points.
Prairie’s next games are scheduled against Lewiston JV and Clarkston JV Jan. 5 and Jan. 7, respectively.
Grangeville’s return from winter break is set for Jan. 4 at Kamiah, with their league opener Jan. 8 against Orofino at GHS.
Grangeville has eight regular season games scheduled before postseason tournament play begins.
Clearwater Valley takes 7-7 record into New Year
With a 54-38 win over Potlatch on Dec. 21, the Clearwater Valley girls improved to 7-7 overall and 4-4 in the Whitepine League. To compare, the team had won four games — one in WPL play — last season.
At Potlatch, Martha Smith scored a team-high 15 points.
CV has six regular season games scheduled in January, the next of which is set for Jan. 10 at Prairie.
Summit tops Logos
With a 53-25 win over Logos on Dec. 18, Summit closed the book on 2018 with a 3-4 overall record — all against Whitepine League’s lower division opponents.
Taylor Lustig scored a team-high 22 points.
Summit has five games left in its regular season, the next of which is Jan. 8 against Highland.
SR girls 7-2 at the turn
The Salmon River girls got their seventh win of the season 71-37 at Highland on their last game night of 2018. They’re set to host Highland Jan. 4, and have upcoming games scheduled Jan. 5 at Garden Valley and Jan. 8 against Tri-Valley.
They have 11 still to play before districts begin Jan. 31.
